KRI PWS Control – operating and monitoring software

KRI PWS Control is an operator interface for the power-supply controllers from KRI / Kaufman & Robinson. It reproduces the device front panel in the browser, reads back all measured values over the serial interface, records them and plots them.

The software is a single HTML file. There is no installation, no runtime environment and no cloud connection – it runs entirely locally in the browser.

Start directly – no download

The operator interface can be started directly from this page. The browser connects to the serial interface of your own computer; no data is transmitted and nothing is installed.

Requirement: Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge and a USB-/RS-232 adapter to the controller. On the first connection the browser asks which port may be used.

Alternatively you can save the file and open it offline by double-clicking – the feature set is identical.

Features

Device panel

A reproduction of the front panel with seven-segment displays, status LEDs and controls. Setpoints can be set with the rotary knob or typed directly into the display field.

Recording and plot

All measured values are recorded continuously as CSV and shown live. The axes are separated by magnitude, so a 600 V beam voltage does not flatten the discharge currents of a few hundred milliamps. Recordings can be reloaded later and replayed step by step onto the panel.

More features

• Two modes: simulation without hardware for familiarisation and preparation, and LIVE operation on the connected unit.
• Monitoring only: in LIVE mode only queries are sent. Operation at the unit is untouched – a running process can be logged safely.
• Remote control over RS-232, provided the unit is enabled for it.
• Backup and restore of the device parameters.
• Setpoint recipes: save and load parameter sets and export/import them as a file.
• Data recording and live plot: adaptive CSV sampling with state markers (discharge/beam/emission „good“ and process „good“) and review of saved runs.
• Accelerator current-limit warning: flags when the set accelerator current is exceeded.
• Serial monitor with a full command and response log.
• Operation on a tablet or smartphone via an adapted layout.

Supported units

Released and verified against real hardware are currently the power-supply controllers KSC1202 and KSC1212. Further device profiles are prepared and will be enabled after verification.

This software controls power supplies that deliver high voltages and currents. The operator is responsible for the safe state of the system, the vacuum chamber and all interlocks. Remote operation removes the operator’s direct view of the equipment. Please read the operation manual before use.
